The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Flora Singer!
This is a wonderful event that students, teachers, and parents greatly enjoy. We need volunteers to ensure that the Book Fair runs smoothly. Volunteer duties include helping readers complete their wish lists, finding books for kids, working the registers, organizing inventory, and simply offering a helping hand.
**All volunteers must complete the MCPS child abuse and neglect training prior to volunteering in the school, fill out a volunteer form, and submit proof of vaccination. Details below**
MCPS TRAINING HERE: The "Online training for Parents/ Guardians" will take you to your Parentvue account. Once you login to Parentvue, you can find both the training and proof of vaccination in MCPS Classroom under Parent Resources. The online training is good for 3 years
If you cannot work the entire shift listed in the SignUpGenius, that’s okay. Please list the times you can be available in the comments section when you sign up. If a shift you would like to work is already full, please email Mary Webb at mmolinski@gmail.com to add a slot.
Before and after school activities are a GREAT way for your children to continue learning outside of school hours through engaging activities! We are excited to offer a variety of activities this fall, including: baseball, chess, dance, musical theatre, karate, science, Spanish, soccer, art, and more.
To help streamline the registration process, the PTA works with Kiddo, an online platform that organizes registration for all activities in a single website. Please check out the Kiddo link for more information about before and after school activities offered at Flora M. Singer this fall!
Scholarships are available for students. For more information about scholarships, please contact Mrs. Kimberly Kincaid at Kimberly_E_Kincaid@mcpsmd.org.
The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fair is a fun, non-competitive weekend event open to all students. In 2024, it will be held on April 6th.. Students work at home on a STEM project, then create a display board to share their project with the school community. Science demonstrations, snacks, and giveaways round out the morning! The science fair website includes a registration form and links to the science fair guide (in English and Spanish) with project ideas and a simplified description of the scientific method for kids.
